AACC
Riverhawk Tips and Tricks

As we wrap up the first week of spring classes, here are some helpful tips from your AACC community to keep in mind throughout the term. You've got this and we're here for you!
Allow ample time to log onto your class, or drive to campus. No reason to create any anxious moments. Early bird gets the worm 🙂
Let's have fun!!! 🙃
Just show up every day and on time. That will set you up for success every time.
Ask for help! We have services to help you. 😀
Time management is key. Don't wait until the last minute to do assignments and exams.
Laugh at your professor’s really bad jokes. It means a lot to us 😉
Never procrastinate and do not skip class. Get enough sleep and rest. Befriend your professor, they are there to educate you and help you succeed. If you have a project/coursework, get started early. Never wait until the last minute to cram for an exam or assignments. Time management skills are essential. And don't forget to take advantage of all the resources available. If you need tutors, utilize them, tutors are there for your benefit.
Make a schedule of all your assignments when you have your classes and manage your time wisely. Ask the professor for clarification if you have a question on something.
Try to have fun when you learn. Be curious. Try new things. Visit the Hatchery in Careers 326 if you need a place to work, print, or heat some food in a microwave. All are welcome!
Stay engaged during class meetings. Pay close attention. Get rid of distractions.
Learn for understanding, not just to pass an exam.
If you’ve ever heard a rumor that college professors “don’t care” - it’s not true! Keep open lines of communication and you just might find some of the most caring people around 😊
Celebrate your accomplishments along the way!
If you don’t feel well, stay home!
Take advantage of the Library's resources!
If you are confused, or just curious, use office hours, or other contact methods to talk to or message.
